meh, Sunni ISIL will not complete its domination of Iraq which is made up of 60% Shia. At least not before the Shia sect in Iraq get around to resist this "growing" threat. If the noob of a government won't do it, I'm sure something will. This is actually what Israel wants, a very fractured middle east... they do not want those countries to get on the same page.

civilians are the easier target man gud, it's harder to hit military or government targets. If they had the capability, terrorists would but attacks on civilian targets are just easier for them.

this power vacuum had been said before the OP:IF, and now it all started again... this will never end... this happen also in Afghanistan which still has US presense.... atleast the talibans are still kept at bay.... but for how long... there will always be power vacuum aslong as there are people who will take advantage to it... with not-so-similar event but talks about power vacuum from different timeline, on Operation Foxley british canceled the plan to assasinate the furor in fear that it may create a power vacuum and he will only be replaced with more tough leader then the war of europe could have been lost...

The effect of western intervention in promoting democracy in ME never works.

Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria look at them now they became a haven of terrorists. The Arab dictators (Saddam, Qadaffi, Assads) will always be the best compared to the alternative.

Good thing Egypt made a counter revolution against Obama backed Muslim Brotherhood.

Even without the sectarian divide, I strongly doubt ISIS which has about 3K men will overhelm a 600k Iraqi army very laughable if it does lol but I heard the Iranian army is joining the fray and ISIS already had skirmishes and on going battle with the US, UN Kurdish, Turkish, Syrian, Islamic front, Shia militants eg Hezbollah, mtm. ISIS is pretty much hated I dont think they can take over even just Baghdad.

The biggest threat is ... will ISIS create their own Islamic state or at least control northern territories of Syria and Iraq if so we could be seeing the birthplace of new evil that could threaten the peace on other country through terrorism.
