Second best summer blockbuster of the year for me. Came with low expectations, came out very pleased with the movie.

Tom Cruise was great, the action scenes slick, and the time loops didn't feel tiring at all.

And Emily Blunt. Enough said.

Guess i'll have to watch the movie alone. haha

I've just seen it. it was a pretty good movie. great action sequences and use of practical effects. great performances. Rita was badass, though I would have liked to have gotten to know more about her beyond just her middle name. I liked her character, but I wasn't completely enamoured. same with Cage. he was cool. he had the classic hero's journey, but...

Spoiler! 

when he lost his ability to reset, it would have been interesting if his character went back to being a coward, and then eventually found TRUE COURAGE to finish the job. before, the only reason he was able to fight the Mimic's was because he could reset and not because he was courageous, but when he lost that power, he is still the same person as if he had never lost the ability. *shrugs*

and the ending could have been better if there was no reset, and Cage, Rita and the J Squad had died. or if they left it ambiguously by ending when the blood of the Omega seeps into Cage's body and just left it like that.

anyway, I had a great time. it was a good movie and one of the best action blockbustre's of the year. and one of the better sci-fi movies to have come out in a long time.
