The anti smoke belching law created the smoke testing industry.... it is a very unnatural business. If we are going to interpret the purpose of these centers, they are their to measure the amount of co2 of the customers. But reality bites, if they are going to keep on failing customers, then they will lose business. That is why they themselves make sure thrir customers pass the test to keep them coming.

Petsonally, the real culprit in this automobile pollution issue is the tax levied on new cars, as high as 100% on some classifications, thus making new cars artificially more expensive and retaining older cars (or purchasing second hand)as a logical alternative. New cars are almost always cleaner and more efficient than old cars because of improved technology. Less tax on cars, and people might be more willing to keep on upgrading their car. Back in 2008, the high end fortuner in uae costs 700k as compared to phils 1.5M and second hand fortuners at 900k....

Not really. Even new cars will begin to belch smoke in as little as a year. This is particularly true for diesel engine vehicles, due to the low quality diesel at the fuel pumps.

As always, it's a case of the government failing to do its job. The Philippines is still a repository for old, surplus cars from other countries. Add to that the number of decade-old, rickety jeepneys still plying the streets.

Asa ta maka palit ug gas mask dire sa cebu? Mag activist mode ko / tripping mode... Mag mask ta padulong trabaho.

if two years pa ang BRT, mamatay na ta ug lung cancer ani before ma implement ang BRT.

And as far as i know, I'm very skeptical when it comes to gov't handling large scale projects.

Kibaw nata asa padulong ang kwarta.

Besides, name a government project dire sa cebu that was actually successful?

CICC anyone? rehabilitation sa south bus terminal? pagkadakong loslos sa gobyerno.
