It's called getting into character. In acting classes, you spend a lot of time discussing your character. Who they are, what they are, what motivates them, what makes them happy/sad/angry/etc... Good actors becomes their characters. So, if your character is crying, then you should ask Why is your character is crying? Is it because he's heartbroken, frustrated, angry, sad? You internalize those reasons and those reasons should make you cry too. Become the character yourself.
