Sa barkada namo sa Agro, I think a few of us are now in the US. Jojo Bernido was the first one to move out... taga 7th avenue sab... then si Dodong Lao, taga 6th Avenue... then ako... then si Pyj Valdescona, taga 5th avenue. All of them taga Cali, ako ra taga East Coast (NY).

Well, I did move when i was 11. So unless there's a standard for the phrase "growing up"... Stayed and moved around for about 10 years then came back. Sure, I guess you could say i was assimilated into the culture, but nevertheless, lisod gihapon... IMO, i find cebu quiet, mainly because i live sa bukid dapit. but then again, thats just my opinion...

If that's the case - you're in the same boat as my sister.. she came here when she was 9, she's now 22 - and unlike you, she don't remember anything about Cebu and not once she admitted of missing "home" `cause for her, home is Orlando, Florida. As far as culture goes - do you think a 9 or 10 yr old would have a hard time adapting? especially after 10 yrs nga naa ka diri. Akong manghod, she has no idea what the Pinoy culture really is... after all these years, gamay nalang gyud ang pinoy traits and values ang nabilin.

After 10 yrs being here... tingali ikaw na ang na bag-uhan pag uli nimo sa Pilipinas. Mas ma culture shock pa tingali ka ug gikan ka diri.

As for me, I moved here 14 years ago but then 19 na ko pag ari nako, didto gyud ko nag dako sa Cebu ... I terribly miss home (culture, people, etc..). Then pag uli nako 2 months ago (first time in 12 yrs), ako ang na culture shock.. I forgot how it was diha sa Cebu.

ako man gani nawala ra ko ug 7 months na bag-ohan man gani ko sa cebu since i left. why? because in that just span of time there are new roads, new buildings and the traffic has gotten worse.

probably because the rate of progress in Cebu now is faster than before.
