@michael corleone, I think I know that club, hehehe.
Mao sad na wala ko ni join ana na club coz I also hear na puro na palabwanay sa equipments. Nawala na ang real essence and purpose sa club. I'm even looking for new clubs to join here in cebu coz lahi ra jud fresh pa na group of photographers. A club that is there to teach and encourage co-photographers, not discourage and pasuyaon ra sa ila new equipments napalit.
For my opinion also about clubs, mag depende ra jud na sa club imo gi join. Joining clubs can be a real big help and make you learn faster and understand it better. There is nothing like one-on-one education, learn from people that are more experienced and see the works in actual jud than just pictures from the books. Hope this helps...

di naman na malikayan ang mohambog sa ilang equipment ba or maybe wala nila gituyo ang paghambog.

anyway, as someone said even cheap gear will produce result in the right hands.

The people I've been helping out in photography want to start a club where the focus is in creating and capturing photos. By the way, we'll be starting a new batch for our study group with regular lessons on saturday afternoons.

The coverage of the lessons I give go from...

    ...basics...

    ...to advance applications.

If you're interested in joining or even just to drop by PM me your contact number and I'll keep you posted on our next whereabouts.

A few years ago I was attending an event at Waterfront and found out there was an on-the-spot photo contest. I joined despite the fact that all I was carrying at the time was Kodak DC280 which was a 2 megapixel compact digital camera. All the other photographers were using pro SLRs. I took whatever shots my 32MB compactflash card could hold and went home and printed out one photo for my entry. In the end I got 2nd place.

I've used that same camera for commercial photography for three years before I moved up to 5 megapixel Sony DSC-F717.

Photography is not just about apertures and shutterspeed. You can do alot already with good composition and an understanding of your camera's features.

Why not join my study group?

Anyway the best way to learn is to play around and have fun!
