Hmmm... Rich families of Cebu (and other parts of the country)

Ang masulod ra sa akong huna2x are:

    1. Spanish collaborators
    2. Pre-War American collaborators
    3. Japanese collaborators

while most of their fellow Filipinos, or Indios at those times were probably enslaved and oppressed by the Government.

I bet there are also rich families during the Spanish Occupation who supported the rebel Katipunans, but when discovered by the authorities their properties sequestered by the government... therefore removing their names from the history.

You forgot one thing: Future Chinese collaborators. I am sure of that because I know our history.

i noticed that MOST of the "old money" has lost their fame, power and wealth and is being replaced by the newly rich.

almost all descendants of the "old money" are now engaged in trade jobs like us working classes do nowadays. in fact, most have already became part of the working classes.

^^ Some perhaps... have slowly lost their status.

But most of them still holds political and economic power strong influence.

Mahitungod sa inter-marriage mao nahimo me ug meztizo sagol insik ug katsila.
