Chinese who grow up and born in Phils are dfrnt frm the Chinese here in China. Ive been to all dyr provinces and big cities. Sori nlang but of all the swapang ppol ive met ang INSIK PINAKA SWAPANG sa tanan. HUGAWAN as n dy dnt take a bath and mind you mga babaye wlay ibot or wax ila ilok. My ofcmate comes to ofc bag-o pa mata nga ang buhok klaro nga na flat sa undlan. They lack hygiene and wla pud kaayo na matagi importance sa media &govt kay its all business and money here. Patay patay jud work dyr trained for that since childhood mao na nga we somtimes msinterpret them as hardworkers but acutally ila nang way of life maski palpak trabaho.
Pinka TIHIK as n maski cents lang magsumbagay na sila pakamatyan na nila ila money..Dy worship money money and money. Dy dnt have

im a full-blooded chinese, but i consider myself filipino. im proud of my roots and im also proud of my country. i graduated highschool from a chinese school and get along w/chinoy fellows cuz about 90% of the schools population has chinese blood. when i got to college, i adjusted a lil bit lng cuz most of my clasmates are not chinese.

culture? i live pretty much more with chinese culture and traditions. of course, naa sad jd filipino cuz i was born and raise here in cebu. its just a matter of adapting lng jd.

i agree that some chinese people are racists especially the old generations. just like many of you stated, chinese people prefers their child to marry with fellow chinese. personally, i'd prefer chinese pd. my reason? maybe type lng jd nako mga chinese pd.hehe. and about sa money, believe it or not, i find pinoys more kuripot than chinese. so far ha, when i was in college and even now, most jd sa pinoy ako nabantayan, tipid jd sa kaon maski ako natakdan.hehe. also some of my pinoy frens even have their own cars, they take a jeepney lng cuz mahal ang gas.hehe. maybe practicality pd cguro.

for me, it's really just a matter of preferences. not all chinese are like this or like that. even some pinoys have those bad traits that are stated by other posters, dba? like money, naa man pd pinoy hanggol ug kwarta. naa man pd pinoy na kuripot. naa man pd pinoy na mamili ug buyahon para sa ila anak. naa man pd pinoy na na mu2o ug feng shui. naa man pd pinoy na racists, especially towards black people, ryt? i think its part of human society. whether black, white, chinese, latino, pinoy, or any race. again its just really a matter of one's preference.

    Default Chinese people

    Chinese: Pinoy:
    tihik gastador
manluwa bisan asa mangihi bisan asa
minyo insik gihapon samot kainsik minyo bisan unsa basta molambo kinabuhi

a little comparison lang ni. Peace!

Why are the Chinese Filipinos this way?

Well, I'm part chinese and this is my grandfathers story:

Most of the Chinese family's great grandparents came all the way from China by small boats. With only their clothes on their backs and for a few, a little money. Here they worked together side by side with filipino slaves under the Spaniards. They saved the little money they earned by eating lugaw...working hard and sacrificing, patiently saving for their children. Even to this day the Chinese Filipinos are even mocked for their love for lugaw.

As the years passed some accumulated enough to start lending money to fiesta loving filipinos, to lavish for their precious celebrations. Some even pawning their land so they can have the money to celebrate thier annual fiesta. Eventually in some towns there would be a Chinese usurer who would become more powerful than the judges, sometimes even the mayor as they owed them large sums of money and owned large swathes of what used to be their land... yet still our brother filipinos looked upon the Chinese Filipinos as second class citizens. Yet they adored the Spanish friars for their good looks even if their land were grabbed from them by these friars without monetary consideration and at times make filipinas bear bastards.

Today, a few Spanish families lord over the country, the Ayalas, Aboitizes, Madrigals, etc. thankfully our Chinese great grandparent's sacrifices succeeded in inculcating to their children the value of saving & thriftiness. Today we have the Sy's, Gokongwei's, King's to name a few, who are in equal footing, even surpassing the financial status' of the friar's descendants. Today their great grandchildren are reaping, enjoying, and mutiplying their wealth. It is their legacy ...something worth emulating.

So there, that answers the question why Chinese Filipinos are tihik.

I believe I have Chinese ancestry, this one guy who recently opened a store in my neighborhood asked me by using an old-Chinese phrase(I forgot what it was) I don't understand Chinese so he translated and asked me, 'if I'm partly Chinese'. I replied with "no I'm not, but Im positive some of my ancestors were."

I'm think I'm more of Spanish oriented, good mix of both.
