havent tried this one... though there is a software somewhere (psp-hacks maybe) that can remove the unnecessary files from your flash memory to give more space for custom settings and perhaps making it more faster... turning it back to its original firmware of 1.5 can be done by the recovery mode raman cguro (correct me on this guys since i havent tried setting it back to 1.5 since we had the cfws)

im also interested to know if someone tried reformatting their psp through the normal settings found under the xmb mode..i have an old psp, 2nd hand bought, think it was one of the first batch made since it was still made in japan..i sometimes replace the battery with another one and everytime i turned it back on, it would always reset the date settings and nothing else (psp name, etc) ...murag semi reformat noh...still, the firmware is M33- 3.52....

you can reset your psp to its factory settings in the menu under settings but thats pretty much it. and it doesnt do much. what clutters your psp is the mem stick. or u customized d firmware yourself

if you have screwed your firmware a-la bricked it. there is no hope for it unless reflashed or re-modded your psp to get it unbricked.

with a cellphone its reset to factory settings and will delete everything, even messages and stuff

But ive tried REFLASHING a nokia n-gage, its symbian os got corrupted. reflashing needs special equip and stuff :d
