UPDATE: First Batch of Donations Hits 13 Tons; Endorsed to Philippine Navy in Cebu for Shipment on Monday for Victims in Leyte & Samar

Silliman University is grateful to everyone who responded positively to the call for donations. The first batch of donations of food, water and clothing reached approximately 13 tons.

The University brought the first batch of donations to Cebu and endorsed it formally to the Philippine Navy this morning (November 16). The ship is expected to leave for Leyte on Monday where the relief goods will be distributed to the typhoon victims in Leyte and Samar.

Breakdown: 405 boxes assorted food items with 1761 packs, 76 sacks assorted food items with 762 packs, 68 boxes assorted used clothing, 152 sacks assorted used clothing, 102 boxes of mineral water with 1791 bottles, 3 boxes sardines with 372 cans.

Acknowledgement receipts were issued to those who had donated, and official receipts for cash donations received. A list of donors will be made available on the University website, Silliman University, next week, after all information is compiled and finalized.
