my 100-400Lis when mounted on my 400d feels very secured and i carry it holding the body most of the time and not the lens... you have to support the lens with your other hand when you shoot though, this lens is heavy... not that the body cant support it but rather its hard to shoot with this long lens with one hand... aside from looking stupid doing it hehehe
