If the film industry would cater to the group of people who watches hollywood movies or english movies or movies with complex and thought provoking storylines; the group that only makes up for 15% of the country's population, and not the masses, they would go bankrupt. The industry is there to make business, albeit it is entertainment for the purpose of entertaining, it is still an industry, its still business, theyre there to make profit. Its the same with all media services, Ive worked in a radio station before as a Disc Jock, I loved my job so much but at the same time hate what Im doing. Reason why? Unlike Monster Radio which caters to the middle and upper class in society, "sosyal" per se, the one I worked with is "pang masa"! Lucky for me, the segment I was assigned with is rock and alternative which is cool be it OPM or international. I kid you not when I tell you how many times I would like to have my head chopped off or blow the station off the face of the earth everytime I hear them play April Boy (no offense to the fans) or Aegis (again, no offense) or that mo*********ng "Budots" or "Dayang Dayang" whose composers should be skinned alive and rolled over in lemon and salt. Thing is, we have no choice, money keeps the station alive, and what generates money are the ads, which would come in if there are a lot of listeners on the radio, and 99% of the listeners that stick are the masses, they stick if we play those types of songs or music. So lets juz say, that would answer your question on "why not like that", and would also answer why it will never change.
I think this would be better suited in this section :
TV's & Movies Juz a thought though.
