Depends on the up bringing of a person, attitude, and mentality. A single person can be happy if he/she does not need a person as a companion. Just like a fat kid how a piece of cake makes him happy, a piece of a55 makes him lazy.

If he has a different perspective in life and find sheer joy
by doing things on his own then he has no reason to be
sad and miserable about being alone
