The Philippines is number 19 in the United Nations' list of Top 20 investment destinations in the world.

This is the first time in at least 3 years the country entered the list by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNC-TAD). The ranking was based on responses from over 200 promotion agencies around the globe.

The Philippines shares the 19th spot with Hong Kong and Turkey.

The country lags behind its Southeast Asian neighbors Indonesia (#4), Thailand (#, Vietnam (#11) and Malaysia (#16).

China was overall the most preferred destination for investments, followed by the United States and India.

Majority of those surveyed said they will increase investments this year.
