is anything that a person does for a Deity out of reverence and adoration.

probably, i think anyone who believes in God or any deity would agree that worship is something we do for God or for the gods if one is a polytheist.

technically, worship can be something of divine or not.

In a broader sense, there are instances that a person may unconsciously be worshipping something.
like money, fortune, fame or self-worth perhpas even achievements..
in this case, the person can be making that something indirectly and not literally as his/her god in the sense that the person's life is being controlled or taken over by that thing.
therefore making that something that person's god..
in other words anything that is First in our lives is what we worship and becomes our god in some ways and it doesn't necessarily have to be something divine.

but! if we are to be fundamental about what worship means?..
it's suppose to be something directed to a DEITY out of reverence.
in the case for Catholics, there is only 1 God in the person of the Father, Son and Spirit
therefore, worship or more specifically divine worship only goes to the Godhead.

in Doctrinal terms, worship can be defined as something we do for God within the confinement of Catholic Teaching.
example would be, going to mass, partaking with the sacrament, adhering to the teachings of the Church.

on a personal level, worship is a matter of the heart.
one can go to mass, partake with the sacraments, adhere to Church teachings..
but not worshipping, simply because it is not the act that defines what worship is but the intention and purpose.

therefore, worship can be anything that we do for God out of reverence and adoration.
more specifically it is our response to what God has done for us..
