Lisud but it's not impossible. I've studied this and the funny thing is, if you just have the time, you can actually save more if you don't buy china-made in some products. Take for example branded shoes. Most are china-made but there are those that are also made in vietnam that are cheaper and better.

The same goes with other commodities. The thing is, our businessmen sell china-made with prices as if they were germany-made. As consumers, as always, "buyer beware".

Chinese exports are no longer competitive compared to before. The current economic model of growth funded by FDI is no longer sustainable. China's record GDP growth cannot continue any longer. They are now going to transfer from an externally investment driven economy into a domestically, internally driven economy which gives lesser GDP growth but it makes such growth much slower and more sustainable. The cost of doing business in China is set to go up and has been since then.

What the above means that the CNH/CNY will no longer be manipulated by the government which means it will appreciate making China's exports much more expensive, so there won't be much competition from chinese goods anytime soon. Of course if they don't do that and keep the CNH/CNY in peg then it's going to get difficult for them to sustain their current economic model.

Basically what they are trying to avoid is massive social unrest. With all the low wages, pollution, corruption, censorship etc the people there must be very tired and wary of their government.
