Do we have political analysts here than can share their thoughts?

I personally don't see this happening anytime soon given the fact that China is on the other hand (the less radical side of it) is trying to play its cards the best it can to show the international community it can be another "US". This side of them is willing to bend itself just to "look good" to the rest of the world.

Take for example the recently Yolanda efforts. At first they didn't want to help. Then they helped "because it's for the best interest of China". So they gave $100,000 which is peanuts of course so they still get lambasted by the rest of the world. After while, they then sent their floating hospital "just to look good".

That said, given they are up against established world players the likes of Japan and of course the US (being behind the PH kunohay), I personally don't think they are going to risk everything they have achieved thus far just to be sent back to the woods where north korea is right now.

What say you istorya political analysts?

I dont think the US will go to shooting war with China for just a small islets? Remember Georgia? Especially China is a big creditor to the US military complex.

The only thing the PH can do is avoid reacting to the Chinese provocation or bait which will give them an excuse to use force against PH. To be honest there is no way we can defend those islets against Chinese war machine with the current state of our Navy and Air Force.

At the moment, the world sees China as a bully and somewhat a more subtle version of north korea in terms or rhetoric. Do you think they would risk endangering their global impression just for these small islands?

Are they willing to see more international business exit and go somewhere else if they walk the talk in their bullying?

The tail's still wagging the dog in China I see. These pompous generals have got to make themselves seem indispensable and appear to enjoy the propaganda war.

Impossible. Not if they can do that and do these at the same time.

    Market reform

Accelerate yuan convertibility and interest rate reform.
Push pricing reform for oil, gas, power, water, transportation, telecom & other sectors.
Allow local governments to expand financing channels for construction projects, including the issuance of bonds.
Set up free-trade zones in more areas.
Improve treasury yield curves to reflect market supply and demand.

    Property reform

Push through legislation for a property tax and go ahead with further reforms at “an appropriate time”.

    SOE reform

30% of profits from state assets will go toward public finances, principally social security. That’s up from 15%.
Allow non-state involvement in government projects.
Proactively pursue a “mixed ownership economy”.

    Population reform

Relax the one-child policy. Couples may have two children if either of the parents was an only child.
Accelerate so-called Hukou (residentship) reform. This will allow people in rural areas easier means to move into urban areas.
Study policies to delay the retirement age.

    Political reform

    Abolish re-education labor camps.
Place more emphasis on management of resource consumption, overcapacity, debt and the environment.
Change policy of judging performance of officials primarily by growth rates achieved.
    Strengthen anti-corruption measures.

    Legal reform

Reduce the power of local governments over the court system and move towards an independent and fair judiciary.

This is just a chinese propaganda to test the stand of the Filipinos.
But in reality, they are afraid to implement it. Afraid from the international community.
I guess they have not forgotten what happened to aggressive countries that provoked/threatened the sovereignty of other countries.

Thus, we should not bend our knees to the chinese.
