Not to me. One thing that japanese desserts and japanese food are is that they don't have very strong taste if they're original.
There's an original japanese pastry shop near surfing ribs on the opposite side buildings. The strawberry short cake is amazing there.

Two boxes cool!
I bought another box yesterday. Too addictive!
Problem is the korean owner was not there and now mostly employees are baking. I notice the quality go down a bit with the outer shell very slightly overbaked. That slight overbake is enough to change the taste for me. So from 9 rating I give it an 8 comparing to the 10 of japanese chou creams. Lol. I'm a picky food critic.
