Windows 8.1 experiencing freezing issue any help?

Does anyone of you experience this kind of issue? Im just browsing then suddenly the screen freeze for about 3-5mins. then it goes back to normal again.

Anyone knows the fix?

Problem: not confident using my laptop especially it occurs randomly. Very annoying.

i'm assuming nga latest updates for Windows 8.1 and other Microsoft products are installed (Office has plug-ins for browsers),
and you're using up-to date drivers and all.


sometimes it has less to do w/ the OS itself but more on 3rd party apps instead.
for example in your case, ingon ka browsing-browsing.
What browser are you using and what plug-ins and extensions are installed sa browser?
here let me recreate a "hang" for you.
while mag browse ko with Firefox mo hang ang akong laptop if mag search ko ug NBA then hang dayon inig display sa results.
only w/ Firefox kay ok man sa Chrome and IE.

Cause - Avast Online Security plug-in 9.0.2XXX incompatible sa firefox

naa pa daghan scenarios akong na-experience w/ "hanging" on Windows 8.1
and most if not all were caused by 3rd party programs like PowerDVD 13 as another example.
after using and closing PowerDVD 13 mo hang akong laptop. like I said problema sa PowerDVD 13
kay it continues to scan in the background and if you have like 200GBs of movies inside a folder,
you have no choice but to force shutdown.

Fix - change automatic PowerDVD 13 services in services.msc to manual
- change preference folder in media library

Long story short
make sure Windows and other Microsoft products are up-to-date
as well as with drivers etc.
Check the Events Viewer log to have at least an idea on the problem
