I am a foodie on the lookout for the Philippines' best kept secrets.
Only a handful of people know about these secret food shops because they are only advertised through word of mouth. Also, some cart hawkers seldom practice proper hygiene, and in turn they become unpopular to many of us health conscious Filipinos.
I coined the term secret food shop because they are only open for a couple of hours. They produce only a limited quantity. And when the owners are gone, their secret recipe dies with them.
One cannot deny that street food is the best in terms of quality(I like it dirty, yeah!). You just have to find them, and it's not easy. You need to have a strong gut, literally. Keep some meds in handy, and a portalet if you are rich enough. But you don't need to worry because what I will be sharing here are hawkers that have passed my visual test.
Anyway, I have shared one of them here in an older thread(bakareta in talamban). But I thought of making a list out for those new foodies out there. You can also share your thoughts. Just leave a comment.
