naa gani gipromote si bo sanchez nga work-at-home college student nga iyang work kay as virtual assistant. akong question kay unsa may iyang gigamit nga internet connection nga makareach ug 2mbs speeds (required sa usa ka virtual assisting job company)? dri cebu, ang skycable ra man ang makaexceed ana nga speed pero dili pud tanan nila matauran pa sa ilang internet kay kulang ang infrastructure (kana ha, naa na gani ko gapuyo sa usa ka large nga suburban area very close to the heart of cebu city).

I from cebu, working fulltime as a homebased virtual assistant/bookkeeper for 1 and a half years now. My internet connection is 2mbps courtesy of PLDT.

i tested the speeds of both pldt and smart bro and they're just a little over 1mbs, at nighttime without any competing users. so did your company did a systems check of your computer of how fast your internet is? or did they require a minimum internet speed? one company that i really wanted to apply for required 2mbs internet speed and would do a systems check. are you an independent contractor (like taking on online assistant jobs posted) or did you apply for a certain company?

My plan with PLDT is Php 1300 a month for 2Mbps Internet with Landline. So far my experience is amazing for this ISP. I am getting a little over 2 mbps all day everyday. I am an independent contractor, most clients I came across with really want to have a reliable internet connection which would mean at least 2Mbps mostly for smooth conversation over skype etc. They knew about my internet speed through a screenshot of the speedtest available online.

Working homebased as well.. taud taud na jud..

    Here are some sites:

    odesk
    freelancer
    elance

Anyone can create a profile BUT not everyone has the patience and commitment.

I have coached more than 15 friends on how to go about things... sad thing is, it's either kapoyan or gusto ug dako diretso ilang rate.

    example:

    - Naa koy kaila nga email support, dli siya mo dawat ug $1.50/hour - to think in 8 hours 2 or 3 chats ra makuha... almost paid to do nothing, pero dli siya kay gamay ra daw rate..

If you think about it, clients who post jobs on these sites are either busy or are just starting out... so, mag base sila sa feedbacks from other clients... Now, if you're starting out... why would you ask for a higher rate given nga wala pa'y feedback para nimo?

naa man pero I prefer PLDT.
i personally went to both skycable and pldt customer service, and they both said they currently don't have any infrastructure for the higher internet speeds in my area, and currently don't have plans to expand the infrastructure. to think, wala baya ko sa probinsya gapuyo, suburbs near cebu city gyud mi gapuyo. pero walay internet service for home use ang both nga moexceed ug 2mbs dri sa among area. and both never offered anything else, not even what you guys here said about leased lines. my family currently has both pldt and smart bro internet.

asa man pud nang telpad? globe? that would mean adding a second line...hmmm
