You know why they want to revive the ROTC, right? Do you even know what the ROTC is for?

THE DEPARTMENT of National Defense (DND) has drawn flak for its proposal to make Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) training mandatory to help boost the country’s military force.
“We can sleep soundly overnight because there will be someone who can defend our country since our citizens are well-trained,” Brito said.
Alright, with that being said, how do you suppose we"DEFEND" our beloved country? Marching around?

With the threat of war between Japan/USA and China or China attacking the Phils, it is understandable that there is a need to have civilians that are trained to answer the call if needed.

Please, try to understand first before making childish replies.

    Yup, its for MILITARY...

And do you know what is MILITARY For?

Does Military EXCLUSIVELY Means WAR? Pulling Trigger? Carrying Weapons? is that what you ONLY understand on the FUNCTION of the MILITARY?

The article CLEARLY says to Boost Military Force... Does the MILITARY Force ONLY Consists of MEN Pulling Triggers?

Goodness..Primary function of the Military, Sir, is to protect/defend the country NOT to wage wars. Naka gets ka sa akong post, Sir?

Additionally, what I implied sa akong unang post is if naa ba tay (Reserves) ikasukol, I didn't say naa ba tay "ipang atake"

DEFEND, Sir, DEFEND. Never did I mention on someone in command using the Military, including the Reserves to WAGE WAR.

There is a difference. A big difference.

    hahahahaha.

If they are going to revive the ROTC, mas maayo jud kung naa silay tarong nga program ug dili lang puro buwad sa init ug marcha-marcha lang. Having many Reserves armed with knowledge on how to march around, plant trees and other worthless activities won't really make a difference.

    .
When your talking about Primary then there's Secondary or Tertiary functions, So your argument that ONLY Centered on the GUNS and WARS Alone doesnt make sense and doesnt HOLD Ground... because MILITARY does Not EXCLUSSIVELY means war...

Goodness why you cant understand that...

Lack of discipline among the young ones cannot be blamed to the scrapping of the ROTC program. There are a lot of factors that made the young ones become a bit undisciplined. The rise in the number of gays cannot also be attributed to the scrapping of the program.

Leave the studying to students.. As for the reserve officers program, why not implement them at a latter stage. Some countries allow their citizens to render military up to a certain age, not necessarily when they are studying in college.
