Asus sucks on low-end board, feature and aesthetics wise. Gigabyte has always been my brand of choice. If not for the Asus Crosshair V Formula offer I couldn't resist I would've gone for Gigabyte. I've used 2 gigabyte low-end boards, it never failed me. Back in the 775 days, the Gigabyte G31 was the best overclocking board on the cheap. You couldn't even change the voltage of the equivalent asus board.
Kibaw mo ngano nagdugay imo board @dexlimp? Because you cannot load a 478 so much as to generate enough heat to stress the components in a compelling manner. The cpu or ddr1 memory or agp cards are simply not fast enough to stress the chipset, the memory controller and peripheral controller or any bus perse.
Unlike boards karon nga pwede na sila ma-bottleneck like sata2 with ssd, pcie-2.0 is already at full saturation with newer cards, usb2.0 is holding back the transfer speed of external peripherals. Bisan naa nay sata 3.0 usb 3.0 pcie 3.0, the amount of data transfering between any of the buses are enough to bring any poorly built board to its knees, especially the cpu-memory bus ( dmi, qpi, hypertransport, whatsoever)
There, so you cannot compare a poorly built 478 board to a poorly built board of current standards. The 478 has a fairly better chance of living longer.
^^ mao sad cgro bro @keropi, pro at that time na bag-o pa ang socket 478 technology kusog bya kau mo generate ug heat na nga mga procie bro, init mn gani kau akong board ug memory labi na kng mag games kog need for speed, gta 3 etc sauna, 24/7 ga on ang pc, d sad bya na mo lower ilang tdp bsan wa pay load, makapaso gd kng hikapon ang ram..i still could say na depende jd na sa quality sa pg built sa mobo, ky kahibaw mn pd unta ang mga computer engineers na ma bottleneck ang mga controllers kng poorly built pro ngano ipadayon pa mn ug mass production, dapat ila jd na e consider ang mga possible load sa controllers..pati ang mga old motherboards like sa 478 ky baga kau ug mga boards kng e compare nmo sa mga nang gawas karon..pati nindot sad ang RDRAM technology before pro g ipit lng nla ang intel sa ilang kamahal mao nangita alternative ang intel na barato..![]()
