“Crown of Glory” for purposes of this piece is “Corona de Gloria”. I don’t think you still need more clue. But just so you have a mental image of what (or who) I’m talking, imagine the big man who used to head the judiciary and the small woman who used to head the executive branch. Gets? The “crown” was removed from the Supreme Court (SC) because Lady Justice doesn’t need it. She just needs a blindfold, a weighing scale and a sword. The “crown” was so associated with the “glory”. At the height of its “crowning glory”, the SC was used to protect the small woman. The SC became an instrument for the evils of corruption during “glorious” regime to continue with impunity. His imperfections (specially the mess in handling Yolanda) notwithstanding, Boy Sisi (as he is mockingly referred to now) should be given credit for moving heaven and earth (including hell) to remove the “crown of glory”. Can you imagine a SC handling the PDAF case with the “crown of glory” still on its head? With the “crown” clearly benefiting the pork (look at his size!), for sure the SC will say that the country needs pork, that all the Filipinos need pork and that the necessity for pork in enshrined in the Constitution. Were it not for Boy Sisi, the Philippines would have been still a country of pork, people of pork, ruled by politicians who can’t live without pork. Thank God, we now have a SC who keeps Lady Justice on a blindfold. That when she decides cases like PDAF (and later the Plunder cases of glorious corrupt and her allies, including the recent lying b---h with a bullet-proof vest), she doesn’t see anything on the outside, but hears from the inside the lamentations of Filipino people who have been victims of corruption. To all the incumbent, conscientious Justices of the Supreme Court who voted to declare the PDAF unconstitutional, THANK YOU and may the Supreme Judge up there bless and keep you.
