Cebu Music Scene nawala na ang roots

as a music fan myself, sa sige nako soroy soroy dinhi sa mga bars, sige raman tawn ta soon soon sa gawas..\
di ko mo mention og artist pero wala nay identity ato mga musikero,

nindot kaayo og mga barog, porma kaayo, nindot og mga gadgets pero walay unod and ila music.. pero dili tanan ha I've still seen musicians that are true to their identity dili pretentious.

dili mani pama ayohay, its about being a pinoy, unsa ato Kultura, karon uso man kaayo Alternative Metal og Metalcore, perti napud daghana ingon ani na genre ron dinhi sa ato..

mura na foreigner ato music nawala na ang edge.

asa naman ang Term na PINOY music? nawala na.

or kasagaran banda diri kay naay common genre na mura silag sunod2 ra sa uso or theyre just wannabe's sa foreign band nga asa sila na influence?

In my opinion (and based on experience),

medyo na lahi najud ang Muisc Scene diri, before kay uso kaayo ang banda2, halos every weekend naay Gig with different music productions.

you can't blame someone for loving a certain genre, and being influenced with other artists.

and you can't force yourself to like a genre that is not good to your ears or you find weird and hard to understand.

with regards to song writing, lahi2 baya ta, naay uban na bati kaayog lyrics pero wa ta kibaw lawm ra diay kaayo ang pasabot sa lyrics, naa sad uban na bati lang jud pagka himo or some are just for fun and for the sake of something..,
and sometimes you just judge a song kay wala kaayo na tarung ug deliver or wala nimo na dunggan ug tarung ang lyrics so wala nimo ma appreciate.

I think every song tells a story or a scenario.

for me sometimes, bisan bati ang lyrics or wa ko kasabot pero nindot ang music, ma enjoy ra gihapon nako labi na ang nindot pag timpla sa guitar and beat sa drums.

Wala kay mahimo kung mao na ilang naganahan or mao ang uso karon. we're in a different time, a new generation

As for PINOY music. you mean Original Pinoy Music?
I think sa tanan nakong mga ganahan na local bands karon kay most of their songs are original (own composition) so naa raman gihapon ang opm.

maybe their songs might sound like other foreign bands, cause na influence man sila..
then again, its not your problem if sundogero or way originality (not true to their identity) ila manang gusto. bahala nana sila, pasagdie nalang.
ayaw paminaw or tanaw sa mga banda na ingon ana if di ka kasabot or di ganahan.

If sa language, I can't explain why but we cebuanos prefer not to use "Filipino" (tagalog) language.
and dili sad kaayo rich ang ato dialect "Bisaya/Visaya" (daghan words na wala ta kibaw or lawm ra kaayo)
if mu gamit man ta either sa duha, naa ra gihapon sagol english. diba?
so most bands prefer english and I can't explain more... hahaha

again as i've said, ako rani opinion.

I feel you, ganahan sad unta ko mu boom balik ang music scene diri sa cebu. pero wala man tay mabuhat hahaha.. mao naman ni karon. maka ingon nalang ta "those were the days hahaha ila nasad karon"

Mo boom rna bai if mausab ang mindset sa atong mga muskero... Technically maayo na gyud manukar, skilled gyud na musicians, pero ang nakaparat dili naka ka identify if pinoy ba ni siya.... Dili raman pud ni dinhi sa cebu but sa manila pud as well...

Ngano man ang band na Asin gi consider man as the greatest pinoy rock band, bisan ila mga knata tagalog og bisaya?

Bec. The message is there, and they are even using our own native instruments bec. They respect our culture..

para nako sa cebu lisod kay kasagaran banda mas focus jud ang mu cover song. Walay originality.
pareha ana bitaw sa mga large networks like gma and abs ila mga musikero puros nalang cover kay cover
kung dili cover revival. Wala juy new material ni gawas. I really respect musicians na mo try og create rather
that re-create other material.

mao guro nay ilang gitawag og international music brad para mahalin sa lainlaing nasud..pero ang pangutana kung nahalin ba or gibaligya ba internationally?ok ra na magcompose og murag foreign songs pero adto lang pud na i-play sa mga foreigner nga audience..
