According to Wikipedia, Music genre is:
A music genre is a category (or genre) of pieces of music that share a certain style or "basic musical language" (Peter van der Merwe 1989, p.3). Music may also be categorised by non-musical criteria such as geographical origin, though a single geographical category will normally include a wide variety of sub-genres. A music genre (or subgenre) could be defined by the techniques, the styles, the context and the themes (content, spirit).

Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me"

balut_man certainly gave lots of viewpoints on this topic. i think bisrock is a genre but at the same time, it could be a fad - maybe a fad that will fade but still come back then fade then come back again. probably just like other genres that start as a fad then fades then comes back again. - or maybe i could be all wrong about this..
*well, at least cebu is making more progress in the music right now (k mrg nahilom bya to kadali) whether it be bisrock or any other genres..
Well, at least it kept my son pre-occupied with this tuning in to a bisrock station than hanging out with his barkadas or in the internet

If you think it's fad, then it's just like tagalog rock. It became popular in the 70s, then mellowed down and then became famous again mid 90s, then dwindled in the early 2000, and back again last in 2005.
