It seems like an imported dog that's why mahal (UKC registered). check the quality of the line, and the reason why it was imported to begin with basin nindot pud gyud diay kaayo. I have a friend who literally paid 80K for a Rottweiller (crazy noh?) but it was imported in bulk from Germany - the entire litter. They each paid 80K for a litter of 8. He said, for the quality of the line, he even bought his at a bargain (at 80K!). That was the first time he spent on a dog that much but he said it was worth it. He never thought he would spend on a dog that much but he did when he saw the Rottweiller. The line is so beautiful gyud daw that any dog expert can tell the difference gyud.

It depends ra gyud on the quality of the breed (as they say) - that is if quality matters.

NO NO NO. Don't ship the puppies and separate them from the dam in just one week after whelping. That will kill the pup in no time. The pup needs to feed on the dam for at least a month then before you can get to anti-rabies (which is the last part of the vaccination process and three months after), you have to have 3 sets of 5-in-1 before that!

You don't know what kind of viruses the pup will encounter along the way. Your pup is good as dead if ever. There are many other viruses like Ehrlichia, etc.

You have to go through Quarantine before it can be shipped and with the size and age of the puppy, I don't think that will even be allowed.

Peke in a way when they claim there are nine puppies instead of 6 and the other three are from a different dam (with no papers) that gave birth in about the same time as the dam with PCCI. This is applicable to seasoned breeders (breeders that's been breeding a while). New breeders get requested a litter photo with the DAM to be sure that the number is same as the litter. But even that can be photoshopped. Hahay.

Yes. That's true. It's unfortunate coz PCCI don't have the resources to investigate

I really think, encouraging owners of mutts or designer dogs to breed a new line is the best way to go to avoid fake papers or the need for people to fake papers. Fake papers defeat the purpose of registration. Might as well encourage people to start a new line where they can document the temperament of the line, monitor changes and development and eventually can charge their pups a little higher than the usual cost of a mutt because it's a new line. There should also be a Designer Dog certification body (like PCCI) that will monitor the breeding process of the new line to make them feel legit. Any takers here? Katong mga usisa kaayo on quality would be perfect for this so you can also help the community from getting conned. We beat the fakers in their own game by rising above it. Then later, if the breed is stable enough, we now have a nominating body (backed with sufficient documentation) that can nominate it to PCCI for recognition and PCCI can then nominate it for international recognition.

I'm sure there are plenty of dog experts here who can do this service for the community. It can be sustainable too (business wise). All they need is a database and a small team of dog experts to lead a volunteer team passionate about dogs to monitor those breeding a new line and help them get legitimacy. Easier said than done but doable.

I would do it myself and if nobody will do it, I may eventually have to do it. I do hope somebody out there who has the time and passion will do it. You'll be doing a great service to Aspin, mixbreed, or designer dog owners not just in Cebu but hopefully the whole Pinas...eventually.

    Just an idea lang.

    as per post,
Whew! That's a relief. Firstly, you'd need a clean bill of health from the vet and the vet card must have all the mandatory vaccination (which is often times presumed when you get the anti-rabies). You'll need a certification from the vet (I don't know how much it cost here in Cebu), which usually cost me around 500 pesos in Manila. You then go to Quarantine (there's BAI - Bureau of Animal Industry in Pier 1 or 2 ba to? basta its near there lang), they check it etc. You pay Quarantine fee. In the airport, I pay around 50 pesos lang. The airport also have their own Quarantine office. My vet is in charge there. Don't know how much sa barko.

Kuyogan ug tao imong iro? is it going to be on a passenger boat? If not, make sure the kennel cab has adequate water & food ha coz boats take longer than airplane. Maybe best to boost your dog with vitamins. It's a very stressful trip for the dog. If you can get the dog sedated for trips longer than 2 hours, probably better.

Ask your vet on the best way for a dog travel where it can be less stressful.

NEED ADVICE: I need to sell some of my dogs as that was the intended objective why I was choosing to buy female ones. I now have a total of 27 dogs. I have several pairs of dogs i.e. Mini Schnauzer pair, Princess Shihtzu pair, and 4 poodle pairs (not to mention a female Beagle - I was going to buy a male Beagle and a pair of beautiful Whippets but fortunately, the realization that I have way too many dogs already have finally hit me). Only one of my female poodle has whelped so far but twice already. She whelps a minimum of 6 to 8 puppies each time. Both times was accidental breeding, fortunately to a purebred poodle as well.

The not so pretty ones that were sold to me at a bargain (not my wisest moment when I bought them), obviously from a puppy mill couldn't be sold and many are asking for them for free but I can't find the heart to give them away for fear that they will not be treated right because they are not very pretty dogs. I also want to give and sell them because although they are fed properly, cared for properly (daily walks and sufficient play time), they don't get that much individual attention or play time or human contact. I want them to go in homes where they are the family or couples' focus but it seems impossible to find this particular kind of client these days. Either they don't want to have anything to do with dogs, don't like dogs, can't afford dogs, can't afford maintaining a dog or that they already have enough dogs they can handle. At least this is what's running through my mind.

I think I consider myself a fairly reasonable business person (at least in non direct dog related areas) and I do realize that keeping these many dogs are really expensive especially because I'm feeding them all with high grade dog food with vitamins (Holistic) -including the not so pretty ones (3 of them) and recently, I've been gradually shifting to Integrity Puppy but hasn't completely shifted yet. I still buy Holistic puppy and mix them with integrity. Their vitamins are daily too (LCVit, Flea Away Multivitamins, and Brewer's Yeast). All of them have complete vaccine and are dewormed with heartworm prevention every 3 months. All 27 of them (including the 1 month old puppies already have been dewormed and one shot of 5-in-1, no heartworm yet - probably not after they reach 1 year or so as recommended by the vet).

I seem to be having a very difficult time finding a responsible dog parent. How does a responsible dog seller recognize a good dog parent and find the heart to trust one?

I have given one of my dogs (Pomeranian) to a relative only because this dog has dominance issues and its affecting the well being of my other dogs (he's kind of a trouble maker when with other dogs but he is great when he is the only one- very sweet). I still provide the dog food twice daily. I don't allow them to feed him people food (only the dog food I feed my own dogs) - of course since I supply them anyways, and have him groomed every week (the relative is just in the neighborhood of my dog hotel).

Now the advice needed is here: how do dog owners find the heart to part from their puppies/dogs? I have tried several times to sell my dogs but instead of negotiating for less, I find myself looking for an excuse NOT to sell. Has anyone ever gone through this stage? I still yet to sell one dog but I seem to keep on finding excuses not to. I have an interested buyer tomorrow - a really good friend of mine and I trust her, but I seem to be developing an attachment of one of my poodles, especially because this poodle that I'm selling to her is unique (Sable color) - a very rare poodle color. So this is what's on my mind right now. I'm looking at my poodle puppy and I'm seeing all her beautiful and rare features. I find myself re-considering. And tomorrow is going to be the agreed sale date.

Kindly walk me through on how you made your first sale of any of your pups or dogs. How did you decide to sell. I'm referring to those responsible dog parents who still want to make a profitable business out of their dogs but at the same time are staunch dog lovers and advocates. Looking forward to know your thoughts.

    Thanks!!!

i have a simple advice ~ SELL dont give out your dogs for FREE.

those who are willing to take in dogs but are not willing to pay are probably not the right homes for your dogs. if they cant shell out any amount for them, how in the hell will they be able to sufficiently provide for their needs? its a simple analogy actually but it is true

    FOR ME LANG HA...

one way nga ma stop or ma minimize man lang ang puppy milling (based sa akong nasabtan ani nga thread nga inyong definition sa puppy milling) is kanang mga responsible breeder mobaligya pod unta ug mga puppy nga wala sa standard nga for pet lang same price sa mga walay papers...para kadtong mga taw nga gusto ug ganahan nga naay pet makapalit ra gihapon...ang problema pod gud usahay kay bisan ug dili show quality but ang line nindot mahal man gihapon...

like sa siberian husky for example daghan faulted baligya at 15k pesos (w/o papers) but if with papers (bisan mas nindot pa ang w/o papers) baligya kasagaran kay 25k sahay 35k pa kay nindot ug line kay with papers lagi...

now, d ba ingon mo d mo matter ninyo ang money basta maka produce lang mo ug nindot ug quality nga dog? nya in 5liters naa man gyud na bati (not show quality) nga puppy why man mahal man gihapon? why not let go your faulted (not show quality) puppy for 15k same price sa mga walay papers?

mao pod ni akong puppy milling definition:

    1. every heat imo pahabalan
    2. crossed breeding (depende na pod ni basin magbuhat kag imong klase nga iro for expert only ra ni)
    3. disable (pungkol, buta, bungol, 1 egg ug uban pa)

(kahibaw ko daghan gyud kaau mo react ani pero ok ra kaau as long as d ta mag away...hehehehe)

    1. Breeding at the right age at the right time.
    2. Breeding atleast 1's a year or more provided capable na siya para breed.
    3. Breeding para maka bawi man ka atleast sa imong gasto and also makahatag kag pet sa uban at a lesser price kay kung adto kas responsible breeder mostly but not all you cannot buy their dog below 20k BISAN PAG DILI SHOW QUALITY (siberian husky ni ha dont know sa uban breed)
    4. fully vaccinated and deworm kada schedule...
    5. KUNG NAA MOY IKA PUNO FEEL FREE
