Catholic church feeds the poor and the hungry for free

What you speak of is call "Offerings", "Tithes" are 10% of your earnings paid as a contribution to a religious organization.

It's never been healthy for the church to take 10% of each members salary each month,
one can fulfill this by sharing the 10% towards the poor and the willingness and freedom to support the church. I'm a Roman catholic and since I was able to work
and earn quite a while now, but within that span I was not asked by the church to allocate 10% of my salary to be offered towards the church.
