The slaughter of domesticated animals, either cows, pigs, sheep, goat, fowl, and other peculiar meat sources, is indeed cruel and even an appalling act to some cultures/individuals, but to most, it is an acceptable practice as by nature; man is an omnivore.
True. Though it is really cruelty, the fact cannot be denied that the practice has been around for so long that such has become a norm to society. Even in the old days nga mag ihaw ug mananap for sacrifice. Unsaon nalang kung dili nata mang ihaw? Wala nay lechon manok, lechon baboy ug ubang pang lamian nga pag-kaon. It's not the killing that we should be looking at but the way and the purpose of the kill. Killing an animal without subjecting it to a long and excruciating pain is, for me, an acceptable one.
It's not like a bad thing, it's just the way things are. For me, cruelty is when you let an animal suffer before killing it.
