If No, there are a lot of negative effects but since we are talking about economy then I'll point out the most obvious one: EXTREME POVERTY.

If No, there's a lot to mention from committing crimes , prostitution but since we are talking about maids then I'll say Filipinos tend to find a greener pasture somewhere else prompting them to GO ABROAD.

If No, they have NO CHOICE. Most of the Filipinos are deprived of opportunities to have a good life, health, stable jobs, and more.

My point here is, the topic should be circulated among the post of this certain devina dediva, instead of linking the political history of our country and ranting bout it cause it will lead to other topic. Really, there is nothing wrong about being a maid. And I salute the Filipino maids and all OFWs working overseas so they can support their families. But it does not mean that we are a country of maids either. Or a country of ignoramuses. In many cases, those maids are university graduates who had to leave our homeland for lack of jobs. What does it say about us people? We do not choose jobs so long as it is honest, decent and it feeds our family. And we do our job well to the best of our abilities.
