    Lamia sa ilang bulalo oi. apila pud ang kawali and the tortang talong, still alive to this day. but for those with exquisite or sophisticated tastes this is not for you. but if you have masa taste buds, like me. then go na. your sure to have a great treat at a no ambiance eatery. hehe. :mrgreen:
    Good food will always be good food. "sophisticated tastes" only means that you eat what other people say is good, or eat what is not affordable by the masses and "masa taste buds" does not mean that you cheap taste, it only means you have simpler pleasures. Tinap-anan sa Danao is very good, and you're right about it not having the itchy after-effect. You might want to try their Kasahos, which is usually available in a karomata near the tennis court early afternoons, and the Water Buffalo Cheese as well.

    Danao's "orange barbecue" is something you'd want to try as well. It has a distinct taste that's "Danao". Order atchara (pickles) that's colored orange as well, to go with it.

    You can also drop by a carenderia in one of the stalls near the bus terminal, it's located somewhere in the middle, and they have the best pochero around that area.

    ..and of course, it won't be complete without puso!

    Happy Eating!

    if I am not mistaken, the places at orchid st. are those that serve grilled items and are famous for their fresh scallops right? I don't understand what you mean by pangmasa na tastebuds, but in my opinion, there's one there that serves good items off the grill, and there's one that's better than the rest, being the first in the area. However, I find the prices to be reasonalbe, some competitive with other grill places. So where does the pang-masa notion come in? ... like is STK near Shangri-la, the "No Problem" place a pang-masa place cause their prices are pretty steep oftentimes. ..Or are you refering to Inato na ambience and dining style?

    @food critic

    to me a sophisticated or an exquisite taste is not based on what would other say about the food but rather a personal discriminating taste, a more complex taste that will not be impressed by an ordinary masa taste bud. and nope a masa taste bud is not at all cheap, don't get me wrong, it just simply mean a more simpler taste that appeals to most people.

    for example: guiseppe in banilad, youp they have good food but its a kind of food that not every one will appreciate or something that we can't eat everyday regardless of the price. but a lami nga carenderia, surely we can go as often as we like besides the price, it sooths the masa taste well, like Kuya Js.

    and thanks for the resto review.

    you have mentioned a better yakiniku for average eater(not the feasty ones) that will cost around the same amount in waka matsu. care to recommend a place please? we have tried the yakiniku in crossroads, gamay ra au amo order but ni average me over 1K each. wouldn't go back there. the six thinly sliced beef is about 500bucks, the average price for 6 thinly sliced meat(pork or beef) is over 200+ not good for the pocket, hehe

    hehehe, Kanyoen is definitely good, but the price is restrictive... when i last went there with my family, we ordered 17 (yes, seventeen) platters of karubi... the total bill hit me like a freight train, but it was okay as it was my son's bday... lol

    that is indeed an expensive yakiniku for kanyoen. I was thinking you'll be able to suggest a yakiniku that would more or less be priced like waka matsu, i had the impression in your previous critic (on waka matsu) that a nearby yakiniku is more or less priced the same and to quote:

    'You can spend the same amount of money (if you're an average quantity food consumer or a person with a more discriminate palate) at a neighboring yakiniku that has better quality beef and seafood items, better ambience and service as well."

    I guess I have to stick with wakamatsu for the meantime, its palatable and easy to the budget a 1400 meal will feed as 3 (Family with 1 child below 12) alreasy. hehe. :mrgreen:

    but thanks again for the suggestion.
