    Pornography is immoral.

it's not being righteous or i'm holier than thou cos one way or another we stumble on them. i mean, *** is good but you don't have make a video or a movie to show to everyone how it's done and how you "bang" somebody up.. by nature we know how it's done.

    i don't believe so.

we've heard so many news about people who raped young girls because they were influenced by these slut movies... just imagine if that happened to your closest relative.. i bet you would believe otherwise... in short, what's the cause and effect of watching porn?

    if it is defined as:
obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.
    whereby obscene is:
offensive to morality or decency; indecent; depraved:

    Immoral. Unethical. simple as that.
what is complicated is how one defines it.

Pornography is something that some of the population(if not most) embrace. The sexual nature on the individual is not something that we could easily get away with. Conservationalist advocates that *** should be considered as a private matter supposed to be shared by two people binded by the rules of marriage or the bible.

in my own understanding, Pornography is something that has nor artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire

Kama Sutra may be considered as Pornography but actually it is not... it is an Art of Making Love.

the thing is, who should determine if it is Moral, Immoral, Unethical, Ethical?

i would rather base my contention with our norms and mores, since we were often made to believe that the woman genitalia and the man's phallus and the act of copulation should be made private and not for public showing, i would therefore say that Pornography is Immoral and Unethical because it deviates on the standard norms of our society.

but, if someone views pornography would that make him Immoral or Unethical too?

i don't think so, unless the act becomes an obsession wherein a person becomes deviant if he could not view pornography in a day.

people who purposely do it just to show their expertise on it, they are considered exhibitionists, it is a sexual perversion and an abnormal behavior. they usually do it for fun.

some do it for a living because they know it sells.

The purpose behind Pornography makes it Immoral.

Pornography will never be considered immoral by the people who created them, the people watching them. They couldn't call Pornography immoral because by then they're calling themselves immoral.

You said it yourselves. they create porn for money, it's a form of business? where's the morality in that? are we saying that pornography is now an accepted commodity?

We have to define some guidelines here on what is ethical yet immoral, moral yet unethical..

Ethics, for me is what society and the regular norms teach us to do.. moral and immoral.. well.. i think I leave that to the church per se to decide..

you cant consider pornography to be the sole basis on these statements about moral/immoral and stuffs... infacts some european countries have rules that tolerate pornography to the extent of gratifying sadistic and masochistic desires...as long as no human life is taken away..

Why do they have this kind of rules.. Go ask their lawmakers and they would say that it is still ethical, moral and the most prudent thing to do in giving freedom to an ever unsatisfied craving for sexual desires and contentment of an individual or person.

Pornography is simply a way of pimping sexual desires IMHO.. that's my take on this..

and simply put it.. it is society who dictates what is ethical and or unethical.. and

if we dont put rules or divide a line between this and between our animalistic behaviors.. then we're better off going back to our caves again and are no better than a pack of wild animals who eat their own flesh and drinks their own urine..

Every society has its own moral standards. If pornography in amsterdam is moral then here in PI it is not. But then, it all boils down to the perception of each individual. Not all mortals here in our society believe that it is immoral. But if we'll look at the common perception of people (here in PI), then it is IMMORAL. So what is really the truth? Is pornography immoral or moral?

Illegal porn (includes cp, beastiality and the likes)=immoral
Legal porn (the mainstream ones)=moral (my opinion)

fact is there are lots of people who patronize pornography than hollywood films and the likes. adult biz is a multi-billion dollar industry. and that means that a lot of people worldwide are patronizing it. the bad side is, in every industry there are always some downside and for this one that is illegal porn. but most people couldn't distinguish the difference between illegal and legal pornography. feminist activists are way too uneducated when it comes to pornography they couldn't distinguish what is legal or not. i suggest people should know what they are fighting for before they'll make any complaints and rallies...

"Its like GUNS ... it needs to be utlilized and consumed by responsible people "

Hello to all im new here and this is my opinion regarding this topic. I have to admit, i had and still up to now watch porn once in a while. Come on who hasnt? The mind believes what it wants to believe and by that i mean it only makes it wrong if you do it or act on it in a wrong way. Its like idolizing johnny depp and imitating him as George Jung on his movie BLOW. Theres nothing wrong with porn, nasa pag iisip na lang ng tao yan. As long as it dont make you go out and **** the first woman you see, well then thats ok. But, a big but, if you watch porn just to fuel your desire for *** then theres a problem. Cause then you'd end up raping someone. As for the porn websites i highly disagree with any previews of whats contained inside. All sites should remove any previews to avoid the fueling of any lust. All should have a valid credit card or must at least be 18 to enter. I know that this may sound a bit impossible. True, but at this point at this generation all you can do is lessen the crime because whatever we do or say lets face it drugs, ***, alcohol, porn and crime go hand in hand with each other. The best we can do is lessen the rate and not eliminate it cause its simply not possible. Its like aids, prevention is the best you can do.

    PORNOGRAPHY ...

it is both : ETHICAL and UNETHICAL , MORAL and IMMORAL ...

it depends on the individual because we as individuals has different setting of standards .
