why not a standard desktop setup if mugamit raman diay ug lga1366, im sure this will not be a server-type machine but a workstation, dba? makaingon ko kalas2 lang but then again might not matter based on your spending habits.

its a no brainer bro... workstation HW can render faster than its desktop equivalent... let me disclosed everything para kahibaw gyud mo nganong ning pili ko ani...

I can buy a bnew Xeon L5520 here for 175 rmb... 1,264 php per CPU... two of these can cost me only 2,520 php equivalent (the same price as that of a single SB G620)... for the ECC rams... 70 rmb (504 php) for 4GB... 6 modules (24 GB) will only cost me 3,024 php (this cost is equivalent to a 8GB kit DDR3 1600 non-ECC)... for the mobo, it only cost 1,088 rmb (7,834 php)... the same cost for a good Z77 mobo... like the Asrock Fatality Z77 Professional...

total cost in php for 2 Xeons L5520 CPUs (total of 8 cores & 16 threads are available), Asus Z8NA-D6 and 24 GB ECC mems... all bnew cost only a mere 13,378 php... now, an IB i5-3570K CPU alone cost around 10K php...

if you are to buy a rendering machine (no gaming) will you choose the set of HW that i posted or you'll buy a desktop counterpart?

mao lagi bro... diri, a single non-ECC mem module (for desktop) cost 160 rmb (like the Kingston Value Ram DDR3 1600 MHz standard desktop memory)...1,152 php equivalent ang price... mas mahal man siguro ni dha ang ECC dimms (for servers & workstations)? but don't know the actual cost dha sa atoa aning ECC mem modules...
