Go to the service center.
where is good service center here in cebu?
Where did you buy the Flash? You can ask for some technical help from them...
I have some questions...
1. Did you tried it at the store before purchasing it?
2. When did you noticed the problem...right after purchasing it or during one of your photo sessions...
Service Center of Canon in Cebu is at Subangdaku, Mandaue City near flyover...dont know the exact address...You can also go to Canon SM and ask for the address of the service center...
bought this in hongkong by a friend. he tried it using the same camera (400d). the thing is it fires. every time you shoot the flash fires but what i notice is the flash doesnt fire the right amount of flash. when i use manual it fires too hard, and if i use ettl, it fires too soft.
went to the canon service center and they told me there not sure if theres wrong with the flash or maybe something is wrong with the setting of my camera or flash... they have to verify it first in manila. ill have to go back there tomorrow.
I suggest you take it to the expert muna, ex. a pro here in istorya or a friend who uses a 430EX for his everyday job..
Because, if they'll verify it manila pa, baka it'l take weeks before you can get your flash back. And at least your sure na talaga there's something wrong with the flash.
And i think it has no warranty pa coz u bought it @ HK, dba?
Better yet, to test whether the flash is working. If it is possible for you to borrow another "working" copy of 430Ex, then shoot with the same settings (ettl, exposure comp., etc.) - try to differentiate the "working" copy's output with the one that you bought. If there is a considerable difference, then your copy might be defective, if not - then it might be your camera's settings.
yah... thats the problem, phil. canon doesnt accept int. warranty... anyway, ill go back tom. sa canon and ask another person, i think jp is his name, the person that i talk to this afternoon told me that jp uses 430ex. i hope he can help. and also i hope i can find someone here who also uses 400d and 430ex so that i can also verify... thanx for the inputs guys, appreciate it
went to canon and talked to jp. my flash is deffected. it wont sync with my camera.... it would take at least 6months to replace it or repair it... i guess ill have to wait for someone to go to hong kong and return it there...thanx for the help guys...
