Guess who's trapped in Zamboanga? Witnesses vs Napoles - InterAksyon.com

MANILA, Philippines - The ongoing firefight between military forces and Moro rebels in Zamboanga City has affected even the quest for justice in the pork barrel scam, as witnesses against Janet Lim-Napoles were among those unable to fly out of Zamboanga airport to Manila.

The witnesses were supposed to jointly swear and affirm before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) their affidavits against the alleged scam on Monday. However, this will no longer push through because some of the witnesses supposedly fying from Zamboanga have been trapped in the firefight in the city.

"Several witnesses are from Zamboanga, but the flights have been cancelled and they can no longer go to the NBI in Manila," lawyer Levito Baligod, counsel for the witnesses, told InterAksyon.com in a phone interview Monday morning.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday cancelled all its flights in and out of Zamboanga "to ensure the safety of its passengers amid the ongoing security concerns in the city."

The city has shut down following the attack early Monday morning, initially attributed to the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) of Nur Misuari.

In its advisory, PAL said the cancelled PAL Express flights are Manila-Zamboanga-Manila scheduled for tonight and flights bound for Jolo, Davao, and Cebu.

Klaro na kaayo oi! pailad pa tang mga pinoy?!

(Updated 7:48 a.m.) Some 100 armed followers of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) former chairman Nur Misuari have entered Zamboanga City Monday and taken at least 20 people hostage, city mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said.

In an interview over radio dzBB, Climaco-Salazar said the city government has declared "no classes and no work" due to the tense situation.

"As of now 20 people are being held hostage. (We believe) the main target of the MNLF in encroaching Zamboanga City is to (declare) independence in City Hall. We are securing City Hall," she said in an interview on dzBB radio.
Is GMA News sure about their numbers because ABS-CBN News says it 220.. WTF?? I can understand a discrepancy of 10 people, but 200??

MANILA (4th UPDATE) – Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels are holding 220 civilians hostage in Zamboanga City following a clash with government troops.

In its official Twitter account, the Zamboanga City government said the rebels were holding 200 hostages in Barangay Kasanyangan and 20 more in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City.

Zamboanga City Mayor Isabelle Climaco lamented that the hostage victims were being used as "human shields" by the MNLF rebels who arrived in the city as early as Sunday evening.

Climaco said some 400 MNLF rebels, who wanted to declare Bangsamoro independence from the government in the city, are involved in the ongoing skirmishes.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but you gotta admit P10 Billion is a lot of money... plus the fact that we all know the MNLF and some high-ranking Gov't officials are somehow in cahoots so ...

Question: What is the best thing to do when you've stolen P10 billion and you suddenly find yourself in a pinch?

Answer: Start your own little war.
