Hmm... the ubiquitous Tomahawk... yes the range is really high but tomahawk is slow compared to the current supersonic missiles of Russia. Tomahawks have been shot down before. At $1.4 million a pop, the US should make sure every strike counts. So far all the sorties involving tomahawks only concern adversaries that don't have the operational capability to counter them.
By the way that is still more expensive compared to their Russian supersonic/hypersonic counterparts. As for the US, they still don't have a supersonic missile since the Phoenix which was already retired. The US does not seem to be focusing on advanced missile technology compared to the Russians and Chinese.
Maybe we will finally get to see the F-22 in action this time to counter these SAM systems. It would really hurt the US even if one F-22 Raptor gets shot down, I could imagine how embarrassing that would be and not to mention how costly that would be for the US.
