What will happen if Assad is eliminated and no single strong man could manage,
not to mention the presence of the Kurds,the different rebel factions,the chechens, and the al-qaedas,
I could see they will torn Syria into pieces, much more chaotic than Iraq.

Well it's a risk Syrians have to take if ever the death of Assad will result in civil war they will have to resolve it among themselves.....

Obama's asking of congress to put the issue to a vote is likely to be an exit strategy to wash his hands of the moral authority (and to save face).

In all likelihood , Congress will vote NO to the issue.
