    D15b jud if daily na awto. PH12 is carburator basin kalas ni gas, B16 is high performance if bug-at ka ti-il kalas jud ni.

    3-Stage VTEC is a multi-stage implementation of VTEC and VTEC-E, (colloquially known as dual VTEC), is implemented in some 1995-present D series engines, allowing the engine to achieve both fuel efficiency and power.

    Stage 1:
    VTEC-E (economy) was designed to achieve better fuel economy, at the cost of performance. The engine operates in "12 valve mode", where one intake valve per cylinder in the 16-valve engine remains mostly closed to attain lean burn. The lean burn mode gets the air to fuel ratio above the 14.7:1 stoichiometric ratio and thus enables extra fuel saving. It is said that the valve which remains partially closed allows fuel to drip into the combustion chamber before ignition, which helps the leaner gas/air mixture to burn within the compressed cylinder, reducing hot spots from occurring atop the piston or valves. This creates a turbulent "swirling" in the air/gas mixture which improves combustion. An average of 30 km/l 30 km/l (70.6 mpg-US) can be achieved while in lean burn at a constant speed of 60 km/h (37 mph).

    Stage 2
    From ~2500–6000 rpm, all of the engine's intake valves are used. The engine now operates like a normal fixed timing 16 valve engine.


    Stage 3 - VTEC
    From ~6000 RPM to the rev limiter, the engine's VTEC wild cam lobe is engaged, increasing performance and fuel consumption.
    Stage 1: Around 15-12km/l depending sa imong driving habits (Some reviews say that VTEC-E can reach as low as 20km/l)
    Stage 2: Around 12-10 km/l depende ghapon sa imong driving habits
    Stage 3: Around 10-8 km/l depende sa imong driving habits (Almost the same consumption sa B series engines).

    I own a Honda civic Ek3 (3 stage Vtec), I've tried jud na Stage 1(Econo mode) with a full tank with light driving, naka dagan kog about 600km then wala pa nahurot ang gasoline sa tank, but now mabitin man ko sa dagan gud samot na speed freak gamay ehehe! so e Stage 2 nako pirmi karun.

    Mao tawag nila sa D15B Stage 3 Vtec engine Best of both worlds.

    mga boss mangutana lng ko im planning to buy ek3 3stage vtec efi engine niya.. naa nka ingon sa ako hassle daw ang 3stage vtec na engine ang mekaniko lng daw mka kawrta nako unsa pasabot nea ana sir? lisud jd ba maintane ang 3stage vtec engine? thnx need help
