there was a very big difference on the 386SX and 486SX variants when compared to their 386DX and 486DX counter parts in graphics (even using the same video card)... why, because, of the floating point calculation... the "SX" variants do not have FPU (Floating Point Unit)... a co-processor (math co-processor)... this statement is true for the 386SX but, the 486SX have this, and it was disabled... reason: (1st), defective man ang FPU sa uban chips w/c resulted to low yield... para mabaligya nila. dili ma physically scrap... paramaka generate ug money. thus, the 486SX was born... (2nd), once mo kagat ang market, covered nila ang lower price segment. kumbatihon nila ang competition. so, even on some chips that has a good and functioning FPU, ilahang i-disable ug tuyo to keep the price down and provide a continuos flow of the 486SX... dako kaayo ang market ani for corporate companies... mao ni ang tirada nila na market.

now, back to the GPU thing, let's compare the fastest IB CPU to the entry level Kepler (GT 640... GK107) and to the entry level Southern Islands (HD 7750... Cape Verde) in floating point performance measured in GFLOPS...

for games, it will be better if the computation will be optimized for the GPUs... kaso, puro mana patented ang technolody sa 2 big players ron... ilogay na sila kun kinsa ang support-tahan sa game developer... diri mo sulod ang "business strategy"... bayran nila ang game developer... tinuod kaayo ni sya...

ang uban game developers, kay naa man sila'y na himo na graphics engine that's optimized by the CPU... para wla sila'y gidapigan... ug pwede maka palit sa game nila ang mga customer na bisan unsa ang GPU(s)... kaning last statement, marketing strategy pud ni sya that's "Eveyone can buy ang play their game"... open man...
-Holy cow too much info must digest slowly haha..lamat sa lecture, gpu 101, i actually found it interesting especially ang business strategy part.

same reason why adobe ditch CUDA in favor of OpenCL on Adobe CS6

aron both camps will buy adobe.. ( and rumors ..napud ..has it that AMD paid adobe bunch of bucks to change camp for Mercury Graphics Engine computing from Cuda to Open CL )

happy all, AMD..the elitist Mac. Intel ( SUPPLIER OF Mac Processor | chipset without the intel inside sticker << hahaha..where in Mac buyers believe they have different procie than we have, most of my friends where coyed when they bought Mac, btaw? they said when i told them.. btaw? tarong ba?.. ) and even Nvidia ( mid end to high have both CUDA and Open CL ) and lastly..us consumers.

"Let pick our own poison"... hehehe...

Wala man gud sa in-game graphics options, contrary on games with advertised Physx were you can enable/disable Physx sa graphics menu.

simple rana boss d ka dapat ma trap between which graphics card manufacturer are you going to choose, is it ATI or Nvidia? Kung more than gaming imong gamiton sa imong pc, like gusto ka maka benefit sa CUDA og Physx aw go for Nvidia, kung Pure gaming ka go for ATI... Since naa kay budget nya if you're a performance hog palit gyud sa pinaka the best nga ma abot sa imong budget...

Pero if gusto gyud ka nga fabulous imong rig aw... "Shut up and take my money" palita tanan nindot!!!!!!!

Been awhile pero I finally decided and bought what is the right card for me and my budget. I got a gtx 660 and I must say it suited me well for my needs...max out tanan games naka install sako pc. Tomb Raider(although kinda buggy), NBA 2k13, Sleeping Dogs, Mortal Kombat, etc. Sa autocad it's just what i needed, very superb rendering. Although wala pa ko kasuway 3 monitors ani but at two that I'm currently using. No problem what so ever. So thanks for all your suggestions and informations, really helpful.
