Okay so layo na kaayo na nga distansya.

If my memory serves me right, sa close thread naay usa ka pasahero sa TransAsia nga nagingon quote..."nya kadungog nami sa pag syagit sa mga tao. nya ang barko ni sugod nag ka lubog na pawng ang suga". unquote...
    - naa kahay divine intervention at that very moment nga makadungog ang naa sa TransAsia at that distance?
    - was this man just playing his imagination?
    - was he simply relating was he has experienced?

That is what i am trying to say all the time. The master of TransAsia 9 has done his homework well. Or so it seems.
Lets wait for the formal investigation results.

It is mandatory for all vessel that receives the Distress message to respond either to relay or to proceed or any way to assist.

Most vessels on the Ports and Anchorage were on Standby and Working Channels have heard the Distress call.. parachute flares were even used and etc.

In truth daghan nagkamonitor ato.. Sadly they just listen... just looked.. they just listened

Parehas jud ta ug insulti unta pre... Nangita Sab ko adto na post... Hehehe... I don't know kung mugna mugna ra to pero... Mura Dili cguro layo... Kay kung naa ka sa dagat... When sound can travel freely...

I don't know kung it's appropriate or not pero ni share lang ko... Lisod jud kuno na Diha dapita.. There are times na mo hunom ilang barko para maka gawas ang kasugat... Then ni ana Sab siya. Nga ni.overtake kuno ni ang trans sa sulpicio while approaching the ledge... Of course nagkacontact sila mao na it went smoothly... Then sa iya pud, kung wala kuno to mahitabo mahitabo.. So kay nagpahinay man.

I would like to think that at that moment only 1 vessel (TransAsia9) and 1 fishing boat was listening on vhf ch.16. The latter applied his instinct to come to the rescue.

Mandatory sila to tune on the same frequency or channel whenever they are in the port area or approaching the port. Correct me if I'm wrong with his one. Makdungog jud sila if dunai distress call.

Bro, these are big vessels and they take time to leave the dock. They are not like cars parked in the garage, na mastart nimo, and biya dayun.

Sadly, nakita pud nako na lacking ang port ug emergency equipment and gears kai it took them quite some time to respond to the area.

Yes I agree it takes time and personnel to respond. Also right dili na murag cars.
(I have been working on barko 2 years domestic '03 and Int. route since '06)

Also Yes sadly lacking ta of gears and equipment.

But is always the action that matters...

I saw an issue raised on the news last night and it was concerning the fact nga why wala jud daw ni sirbato or horn ang either ship? Lisod diay kaayo mo engage sa horn? Also saddening was that in the history of Sulpicio, 4 times naman diay ni sila naay major tragedy and one being the Doņa Paz tragedy which happens to be the world's worst sea tragedy with more than 4,000 killed. The big question is how come they continue to operate Corruption issues sa Marina?

It appears that the port authority lacks the interest to place sophisticated tools to govern vessels coming in and out of the port because, in the past, wala mai incident nahitabo na collision as what happened between 2GO and Sulpicio na nikalas jud ug pi.pila na kinabuhi.

I think duna na proposal before to have some sort of traffic control center to manage the vessels floating with the port area. But, for some reason, it didn't came to fruition. There is a terminology ani but kalimot ko.

Mostly likely, kusgan ug lobbying power ang sulpicio because until now naka.operate pa man sila despite the bad records around its belt.
