[color=navy] I am appalled by the recent rise in criminal activities during the past week that mostly ended in death of the victims despite compliance to the gun-totting, motorcycle-riding criminals' demands.
The police force appear to be inept in deterring these criminals, and we shouldn't really depend on the vigilantes-- we should depend on ourselves to defend ourselves from crime and not be victims! Though I do not propose that we live in fear behind the locked doors of our homes, but we should be alert and aware that there are dangerous elements prowling the streets of Metro Cebu, Mandaue, Talisay, Mactan and all others and something should be done about it!
I am reviving this thread in the hopes that we could share information about local criminals old and new modes of operation, news about the latest campaigns of the police force for the community in general, and tactics on how we could avoid/prevent situations whereas we become the victims.
Such tactics could be:
*If one is to stay outdoors very late in the evening, please stay within large groups or very populated, well-lighted areas.
*Please do not wait closely beside the road/street. Snatchers are rarely moving on foot and are using vehicles such as cars and motorcycles.
*Be aware of the locations of police stations near your home, along to and near your office/business areas. Keep their contact numbers handy in mind and in your cellphone.
*Criminals are known to survey their targets so be aware and alert of your surroundings. Please do not be complacent or else regret later.
So please please everyone, let us post and share what we know! Information and the application of this information could be our best defense against these criminals.
Truth be said, there is no such thing as a petty crime, especially when it happens to you or to someone you value.
For your kind consideration.
What we do in life echoes throughout eternity~ Please support your lokal artists and their efforts to promote the Cebuano identity and culture!
here are some elements for a crime to be committed.
Desire: the eagerness of the criminal or would be criminal to commit the act
Opportunity: it may be a weakness spotted by the criminal or would be criminal on the would be victim, a favorable situation, condition or location (dark streets or alleys, unpatrolled areas,.......you can use your imagination hehehehehe).
take one out and crimes can't occur.on our part as citizens we can deprive them of any opportunities.

One of my co-worker's son in law nabiktima ug ilad inside SM Mall. Ingon lady nga tan awa ako bag, daghan kwarta o.
Then the lady asked her if she can leave the money with him kay naa pa daw siya adtoon sa 3rd floor SM. Of course nibalibad daw siya. Pero ingon man lady nga ok ra man ibilin niya kwarta basta ako lang dad on imo kwentas ug relo.
Then nilakaw ang lady, tapos dugay kaayo wala nibalik.
Why don't these people work legally instead?![]()

Never feel safe, too many people doing crazy things everywhere...
well, you can stay away from all that crime prone area... if you are willing to sacrifice a little fun... but as always, as what the guys here had been saying, nothing beats vigilance.. have a little paranoia of some sort that at any moment that nice looking, clean and dandy clothe guy could pull a crime right under your nose.. never let your guard down... and be aware of your surroundings...
but, kung imo na gyud time, wa nasad gyud kay mahims... so, prepare to meet your creature.. always.
