copy & pasted from my facebook: Wow, I'm impressed with my Avalon. I was so worried tonight that I might use the pedals going home. I traveled for 4.843+4.843+21.6+21.6 = 52.886 kilometers. The last 20 kilometers was a suspense as the battery drop was sudden. It even reached zero (low). I kept turning off the lights when there is nothing around me and there is no intersecting roads. I kept to the sides as I might be slow when I alternately kept on freewheeling and using accelerated pushes. Unlike my previous Clayton where I crawled down to 5 kph and had to use the pedals, the Avalon still zooms to 40 kph where it is normally 45 kph. Even if the gauge was already zero when accelerating. I was driving for I think more than 2 hours. The last trip going home (21.6)took only 40 minutes as it was already 11:30 pm.

I brought an extension wire but was not able to use it because I did not want to drive pass through the party guests and plug into an outlet where the playing music band was also plugged in. I was suppose to travel only from home to the Table Tennis Club then to a Birthday and Fiesta in Liloan. Instead it was home-Club-home-Liloan-Compostela(got lost)- then home.

I feel that wind resistance is the main factor for driving inefficiency for most of my rides even within the city limits with the traffic. 45 kph is just about right because more than that, I feel the air and winds slowing me down losing energy. I do prefer 55 kph if that's the maximum allowed and more torque for climbing and 20ah battery. At least when the time comes when the battery and everything is older it won't still be too slow or too weak or too short a distance traveled. I'm appreciatively amazed that the ebike does not have engine breaks. Even with the known advertised benefits and my initial disappointments, it still far exceeds my expectations. There are subtle advantages I've just discovered and realized. I'm so used to buying, driving helplessly in traffic and costly maintaining a car for the last 25 years.
