Great read ni nga link. While nagdako ang GDP sa time ni Marcos, it is not enough sa ato population growth rate. Maski kinsa pa presidente ibutang nimo diha kung ang highest population growth rate gyapon ang Pilipinas kay dili ni kaya maka keep up. A 2% population growth rate is not sustainable for a developing economy.

What brought down Marcos is that grabe ra pangutang unya wala mapakita na growth sa economy, na nagresulta sa high unemployment by the mid 1980's. The 3% growth in GDP can't sustain a 2% population growth.
