It's all about evolution. Marcos' time as president had to end to give way for a new regime. His achievements were great and outstanding.

My only wish is for our country to be run by a president ASAP with similar brilliance as him.

What is sad about Marcos being the only person capable of doing everything by himself was the risk that should he be incapacitated everything else would go to naught -- and it did happen. Somehow if Marcos was able to replicate himself in other people the transition of his rule to the next would not be so turbulent.

some people say that marcos piled up some monumental debt, but i have one question ::: to the succeeding presidents, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO ASK FOR MORE DEBT ?? Taking Credit to pay for the Credit ?? i'm no economist nor good with math, but if we'll stack up the tax the government has collected in a year, that would mean billions of pesos, right ?? That would be enough to keep the country afloat and maybe pay up some of our debts. But, 80% or even 90% of the tax goes to the President, VP and all the senators and all the congressmen's POCKETS

Are they just pretending to be victims? Please give my brain a challenge.

The way you brand people as "Pro-Marcoses" who offer statements against Cory is counter-progressive to any debate. And you should take a lobotomy test for this reason.

Plunder, Martial Law, Extrajudicial Killings, etc. justified?
Re-read any of my statements if I lifted any banner here promoting Marcos. No doubt that the Marcos dictatorship was responsible for horrendous human rights abuses, it's true. But the Mendiola Massacre and the Lupao Massacre – atrocities that victimized peasants and farmers, these are no Conspiracy Theories. This happened under Cory's raised thumb.

[QUOTE=cmac2;15329417]This is already talking about Cory which I would admit was not the best person for president at that time but can get the votes.

    The President Report Corazon Aquino

This link you gave is a total hogwash.

Every President has it's own "propaganda-packed" Presidential Report. Dignifying themselves, on how good they ruled the country. It's not credible.

    13. An alert and uncompromising attitude against venalities and ineffi*ciency in government has characterized our management of the public service in the past three years. Instant response to reports and complaints of official malfeasance has marked our performance in this field. As a result we have encouraged complaints on governmental corruption. We have acted decisively and even mercilessly against our own close associates, where necessary.Up to 1965, only 68 employees had been charged with various offenses. Only two cases had been decided. As of 1968, there were 850 criminal and administrative charges filed against government officials and employees. Of these employees and officials, 28 in 1968 had been suspended; 119 dismissed. Among the latter were two CFI judges; 11 municipal judges, and five fiscals or assistant fiscals. .In the Bureau of Customs, 91 criminal and 111 administrative cases have been filed, or a total of 202 cases. Of these, 60 criminal cases are pending in fiscals’ offices; 31 criminal and 11 civil cases are pending before the PARGO; and 15 new administrative cases are still pending in the Bureau of Customs. In police administrative cases, the Police Commission received a total of 630 cases. As a result, 101 policemen were dismissed and 21 were suspended.
