Intel is faster cause I'm a fanboy and I wish to spend more dollars for a few fps difference over competition.

see how fast the i7-3960x is vs the FX8350? That's 6fps more vs AMD's flagship! Intel is DA Beast!

Bro, the question is objective and the answer could easily be straightforward. If you factor in price, you could bring in the i5-4570 which is equivalently priced as the FX-8350 and still be slightly faster in gaming than the latter.
It becomes a different scenario though if you compare the i3-3225 with the similarly priced FX-6300.
