Some farmers are used to applying conventional method in their farming using chemicals without knowing the risks of the end users. It has been a challenge for us to convince our farmers in shifting into organic method because of a lot of reasons. To name a few, reasons include lower yield and income, higher cost, a lot of work, longer crop cycle, poor quality after harvest and many others have hindered them in going into organic.

Sitoy is one of those who took up the challenge in taking the organic way in yielding his vegetables, of which were employed conventional way of farming for several years now. He is from Dalaguete Cebu and will be sharing his Natures Bio Experience. There was a time that inspite of the good climate in Dalaguete, there were still be pests attacking the plants even if insecticide/pesticides were applied.

Sitoy and even his neighboring co- farmers, noticed a great difference with the other control. With their comments: the Cabbages that are Natures Bio treated are freshly, bigger looking and grows into heavier sizes. There were also less insect attacks that lead to less damage on the cabbages. In comparison to the Natures Bio Treated Cabbages, the Conventional/chemical Treated cabbages have been the favorite of the insects and pest and attacks from time to time. That’s why these cabbages became hollow, dried looking and are very light in weight.

He was so much satisfied because he can’t believe on the results that he gained on his cabbages, there was a clear difference with the yield and outcome of the appearance and weight of the cabbages. He was also happy and became more eager in going into organic because of the big savings he could get in using Natures Bio with his crops compared to the conventional way which came out to be more costly.

TREATMENT OF NATURES BIO IN ORGANIC RICE CULTURE


Pests and heavy rainfall are one of the factors that stop or lower the growth and production of rice. In our featured testimony today, Jessie Ogahayon , a farmer co operator from Camanjac, Dumaguete City shares his Natures Bio Experience with his treatment demo of Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller in his Rice Organic Culture and how it helped him recover and harvest organic rice despite of the challenges he encountered.



Sir Jessie has been planting rice for so many years. He was curious about growing an Organic Rice Culture, its production and how it creates a lot of demand inside and outside of Dumaguete. Because of this, he was open to try producing organic rice with the treatment of Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller and compare it to the conventional method. Giving a demo area of 100 sq m for the Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller treated area and another 100 sq m for the conventional method area; he, together with Mr. Emilio Saldivar Jr. conducted the 1st cropping with the proper protocol.

First was the land preparation where in the cultivated rice field was inoculated with 50 ml Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and 50 ml Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller to mix in ½ knapsack sprayer sprayed 2 times at 7 days interval, 2 weeks before transplanting. Together with the land preparation, preparing the seedbed also commenced. The seeds then were soaked in Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer solution of 50ml overnight before sowing on the seedbed. After sowing, seedlings were sprayed with Natures Bio solution of ½ knapsack sprayer for100 sqm. trial area.
The Naturesbio solution used in soaking the seeds was sprayed on the seed bed before and after sowing. 15 days after sowing, seedlings were uprooted and ready for transplanting, these seedlings were first soaked to Naturesbio solutions for 2 hours prior to planting at the paddy. Solutions used for soaking were sprayed to the planting area intended for Naturesbio TREATMENT demo area. The control area was left with zero treatment but planted simultaneously with the Naturesbio treated area.
Seven days after transplanting, seedlings were treated with 75 ml Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller to a ½ knapsack sprayer of water at 7 days interval after the initial treatment and were done at 7 days interval up to grains maturing. The application was always every late afternoon and there were no incoming rain after hours from application.

The stand of rice plants 15 days after transplanting grows vigorously however; golden snail infested the whole area while the divider block was eroded by heavy rainfall. Again treatment with NaturesBio Organic Fertilizer / Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller solution was applied as scheduled and also to control snail (kuhol) incidence of the area. But after just one week, the rice plant treated with Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller became healthier with dark green color an larger tillers compared to the non-treated / conventional area that showed small tillers and lighter green in color. Seven days from the 3rd spraying of Natures Bio Organic Fertilizer and Natures BioNim Organic Pest Controller, the rice plant showed more improvement with larger tillers in good condition and bigger stalks.
