    CUDA is also called stream processors. daghan mag ingon aning CUDA cores is optimized by this application. Little did they know that's what cuda is. Stream Processing is developed by both AMD and Nvidia.

    added: daghan pag types of stream processors. dili rana ang CUDA

    atoa lang i-differentiate ang duha and as what bro senpai said, both are Streaming Multiprocessor Technology...

    Nvidia = CUDA
    AMD = Stream

    both are parallel computing... if your application supports (optimized) both technology, then it can speed up that application. if not, then, dili ma unleash ang ilahang computing power. dili magamit... your CPU will do the computation ug it is usually, slower than the GPU... lain2x man ug programing codes nang duha... naay apps na pwede sa duha or inferior ang processing sa isa or, isa ra gyud ang supportahan... GPUs are more powerful than the CPUs in mathermatical/ Scientific calculations... this a the fact in today's computing world... and in reality, kanang duha, mag hand-in-hand na sila'g trabho para to speed up everything...

    example... like sa earlier versions of the Adobe CS Premier & After Effects only supported CUDA... bisan pa mag gamit ta'g HD7990 sa system, dili nya i-utilize ang AMD Stream technology...resulta, mas hinay ang processing kay tua sa CPU ang work load... mura ni'g nag Time Trial bike racing (July man ron, naa TDF), na ang isa ka cyclist, ang gigamit kay Road Bike then ang isa kay Time Trial Bike... granting the same ang performance/power nila, puro pas2x... sa time, ma bya-an ug gamay (in time trial bike race, every millisecond counts) ang naka road bike lang. kay he is not using the proper tool (bike) in the time trial race... mao ra pud ni diri sa PC computing... if ang apps nato, mo gamit (optimized) lang ug isa ka technology from either AMD or Nvidia... sayang lang unya... hinoon, dali ra ang work around... mag upgrade ra's software para ma utilize ang capability sa GPU to speed up the app...

    share lang ni nko for additional reference kay daghan man mag basa2x gyud sa atoang discussion diri na "let's shoot the stars"... pang puno sa kaban... OT ni's apps ni TS... hehehe...

    based sa comment ni boss lloyd.

    MAO nang basta mga video editing/rendering rigs etc, di jud maikabaylo ang intel-nvidia. tungod sa cuda. ksagari apps gasupport ra sa cuda mostly video/3d. gamay ra nga apps supporting amd stream.

    another reference... integrated GPU's (iGP) performance comparison...

    for video transcoding...
    AMD A10-6800K Review: Richland

    and here's a test for Adobe CS Photoshop 6 using Xbit labs custom test script... we don't need an expensive GPU for Photoshop... wla lang diri gi test ang discrete GPU para unta naa ta'y comparison kun asa man gyud ang performance aning mga iGPs...
    AMD A10-6800K Review: Richland

    wla lang sila Video editing benchmark w/ discrete GPU comparison para atoa unta ma check pud... oi, naa'y sa Sony Vegas Pro 12 diay... isa man ni's intended apps ni TS...

    @lloyd-i havent read the whole reviews yet, but it seems ang focus sa benchmarks is cpu performance of a10-6800k with respect to other processors?, not gpu features that can or would help on rendering and such?

    ^ basically, kana na review is for the A10-6800K... dala dha ang iGP performance (parallel computing) on the apps na mo support... in OpenCL, AMD's "Stream cores" are in the works... while "Execution units" for Intel... gi utilize ning OpenCL (Open Computing Language) on both CPU and GPU... iGP is included for parallel computing to speed up the processing/crunching of data...

    double check balik bro... allow me to "cut & paste" just a part on the review...

    Heterogeneous Computing Performance

    Promoting its hybrid processors, AMD keeps on reminding us that the integrated graphics core can be used to accelerate general-purpose computations. That’s true. The OpenCL and DirectCompute frameworks that enable parallel computing on both x86 and graphics cores are supported by both the AMD Trinity and the Intel Ivy Bridge series. And while they used to be used by very few specialized applications, the idea of heterogeneous computing has become much more widespread now. Today AMD already has a pretty impressive list of applications that get accelerated in the APU due to the graphics core potential.

    kani akoang gi post kay para ni reference pud sa uban na dili kaayo familiar kun unsa ni sila... kay nag hisgot man ni na thread ug "GPU parallel processing"... CUDA (Nvidia) and Stream (AMD) in particular and bro senpai had mentioned others. maka share ta'g gamay na info sa uban kay... kani na review, nag mention pud ni'g "Execution Units" (Intel)... naa ra man gyud tanan sa net ba... research lang ta ug atoang saboton pud ang information para to widen and deepen our knowledge... this is applicable to all... i'm included (i'm not a walking encyclopedia... hehehehe...)
