We use I love you in texts and if i call her when i am at work or when i am in public places then its Mahal kita so the people around me don't need to know what i say. I feel those words should be reserved her not all the public around when i am on phone. (Its not curious peoples business what i talk about on the phone in public, so some visaya and tagalog comes in handy hehe)
And i always make sure when i talk to my nieces who i support and who live in my house in Cebu that they always know uncle loves them. I always put in a text conversation never forget uncle moon loves you. Or I love you my beautiful niece. If i talk to them in group online i make sure i tell them separately that uncle loves them. So they never forget they are loved.
