In my observation, majority of the people want to increase their knowledge about insurance, stock market trading, mutual funds and other opportunities that could make more (probably a lot of) money for them but really don't apply the things that they have learned. People are so fond of talking about their big dreams, that they like a very nice car and house, assets amounting to hundreds of millions, but come up with a lot of excuses once you ask them if they have started working on it. Excuses, no matter how valid it is, are still excuses and it won't make money.

I have to agree with this, well said bro. in my experience, I have shared to lots of people already info about mutual funds and yet they still haven't started. mag ask dayun sila about redeeming, ako pud tubag, "ah, wa pa gani ka mag start, redeem dayun imo gi huna2x"...

30% emergency fund nako

Plan pud ko mag MF or ETF puhon if maka pa increase sa ko sa akong cashflow next year.

and by the way, most of us are "young" below 40 here. if you love your parents pre... pag ipunan nyo na as early as possible... their health will deteriorate in the next ten years or so.... magastos.. hindi ganon ka "uso" ang insurance sa panahon nila, so chances are they may not be insured... make sure you have spare money for them

and if you are not insured now... don't be a burden to your children as they might not be as successful as you are when they grow old. so better insure your self as well aside from having investments. you don't want to pull out your investment and savings when something happens to you right?

but in the case of our parents... it maybe a little late for them to be insured (they can still be insured but not the maximum benefit). so start saving for them, start insuring yourselves. Be responsible!

i think they are so negative with those (personal experience - ingon ana sad ko sauna) i dont like the thought of, ni gain sila (companies, agents) from my money, which i realized later on. yes they should, because they grow your money.

before, i don't entertain the thought of loaning from the bank... i don't want to give them "business" but now i am matured (financially literate), i say "please lend me more money" hahahaha.
