naa pay daghan next year hehehe 2008,2009,2010 the last time the Pistons won the Larry O'Brien trophy before that magical 2003-2004 championship year was during their back to back championships in 1989 and 1990. that was 14 LONG and FRUSTRATING YEARS ago before that magical 2003-2004 season came. if I was able to wait for such long a time, what would deter me for waiting another 10 or so years?
as what I've gathered from your last posts, you're a Phoenix Suns fan and have been one for more than 10 years or so if I'm not mistaken. the closest that your team ever got to the big dance was the year 1993 when Sir Charles carried the Suns on his back against the history-bound, soon to be three-peat - Chicago Bulls - with the greatest player who ever played the game anchoring it. if you endured a somewhat boring existence as a Suns fan who never got any championship ring in all it's NBA existence, do you think another 5 year rebuilding period for the Pistons matter to a loyal fan? NOPE. another 10 won't even be a big deal 'coz by just advancing to the conference finals 5 years in a row, going to the Finals twice and winning one championship in the process during that run is a pleasure a fan can ever ask from his team.
just like what my bestfriend's doing; a big Boston Celtics fan since the "Bird Era", enduring a long losing streak since his team's last championship win in 1986. he's still watching every move his team makes, trades, draft picks, free-agent acquisitions, hiring and firing of head coaches and what have you.. every year.. more than 20 years in counting. we were both kids back then...
that's what true fans are made of, enduring all those years of frustrations for just a chance to get to another championship.
imagine how lucky a fan I am. 3 championships in my lifetime wherein I was present during game 3 at The Palace in 2004 with my team winning againt the Lakers 99-91 in OT.
another 10 years.. IS NOTHING.
